Best MensA monologue from American Lullaby by Cassandra Lewis has been published in The Best Men’s Stage Monologues & Scenes 2012.

The anthology also includes works by José Rivera, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Katori Hall, Y. York, Adam Rapp, Adam Bock, Don Nigro, and Jesse Eisenberg.

Editor Lawrence Harbison described Cassandra Lewis as one of the “exciting up-and-comers” whose work is included in the anthology.

American Lullaby made its world premiere at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre.

Play Synopsis:

When a black history professor shows up at a retired Congressman’s southern plantation secrets spill, revealing how their lives are intimately tangled through trauma and a history that haunts every American.
